Message From President

Since its establishment almost 2 decades ago priming into energy industry and sector nationwide, MEPA stands firm for being an association striving to continuously move forward in-line with government objectives of sustaining natural environment while continuing technological advances paving our ways into the future.

Engaging into a wider spectrum of stakeholders such as government agencies, industrial players as well as academician will be one our primary initiative in ensuring MEPA stays abreast of latest energy efficient, sustainable and low-carbon trends in the nation.

Throughout the years, MEPA has successfully contributed as one of the major technical arm providing trainers in the implementation of ASEAN Energy Management Accreditation Scheme (AEMAS) fulfilling our national energy agenda. With major roles taken up by MEPA during the exercise, AEMAS has so far successfully generated 1,381 Certified Energy Manager (CEM) as of September last year throughout 72 sessions of Energy Manager Training Course (EMTC) nationwide.

Continuing our strategy in strengthening MEPA as one of the entity contributing to the industry while upholding government’s objective under MESTECC, we shall continue to pursue and continue our efforts in the areas of Training and Development as well as empowering MEPA memberships. It will also be one of our commitment to ensure that all related authorities regulatory, statutory standards and policy requirement are not only adhered to but
understood in a more comprehensive manner especially to energy managers and engineers.

As one of our major activities under our Training and Development sub-committee, MEPA
has agreed and supports initiatives of University Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN)to become an Energy Efficient Centre. We are also in agreement to position UNITEN as one of our future Training and R&D venue that shall benefit all members.

Expanding our horizon such as on-going Collaboration process with UNITEN is giving more emphasis on introducing and harnessing younger generation in not only creating awareness but involved in energy-related engineering as well as business perspectives.

Partnering with academic higher learning institution will only present wider opportunities in exploring and venturing into energy sectors in Malaysia with a great entry point beginning from classrooms in grooming future potential energy managers and engineers.

Lastly, I would like to express my gratitude on the significant progress and achievement of MEPA
that comes from the hard work, strategies, good cooperation as well as understanding by all relevant members, committee members as well as stakeholders that have positioned MEPA to where it stands now.
